This year, The Body Shop unveiled our Commitment to Enrich Not Exploit™, which is a global CSR strategy that supports our aim to be the world’s most ethical and sustainable business.  We’ve always believed business can be a force for good, dedicated to ethically sourced products, giving back to our communities and campaigning for social justice. We want to continue this legacy by pushing the boundaries to protect our planet for future generations and we know we can’t do this on our own. We must do more as a nation to help overcome some of our planet’s most critical social and environmental problems, many which stem from or are exacerbated by poverty.

That’s why today The Body Shop Australia calls on politicians of every persuasion this election, to do more to uphold people’s basic human rights by promising to repair the recent cuts to Australian aid and put ending extreme poverty above party politics.

BY 2020 The Body Shop commits to:

  • Double our Community Trade programme from 19 to 40 ingredients and help enrich communities that produce them
  • Help 40,000 economically vulnerable people access work around the world
  • Engage 8 million people in our Enrich Not Exploit™ mission, creating our biggest campaign ever
  • Invest 250,000 hours of our skills and know-how to enrich the biodiversity of our local communities
